Dear Star View Community,

Star View Elementary is a special place that feels like a family. This is due to the exemplary people who fill this building daily: our parents, staff, and students, who create a place that is warm, inviting, and safe. It is an honor to serve this community and be the proud principal of this school. 

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! This year promises to be full of exciting opportunities and new learning experiences. My goal is to engage every learner in an innovative and supportive environment at Star View. We SHOOT FOR THE STARS…Together we rise; Together we shine!

Each of our students brings unique talents to our school, and by working together, we can help them discover their passions and achieve their personal best. Star View Elementary is a California Distinguished School, a GATE Magnet School, and a Gold Award-Winning PBIS School. Our CAASPP state scores rose again this year, as well. These achievements are a testament to our collective efforts, filling us all with pride and motivation for the upcoming year. 

• Students will lead and act with integrity and honesty through our PBIS matrix: Safe, Team Player, Achiever, Respectful, and Responsible.
• Opportunities are provided daily through our mission to empower lifelong learners with our Star View philosophy in areas of Scholarly Behavior, Teamwork, Artistic Expression, Robotics, and Engineering.
• We believe that all children must receive a fair and equitable educational experience through challenge, discovery, and problem-solving.

Excellence in education is not possible without the strong collaboration of students, families, staff, and the community. Together, we foster a positive and nurturing school community.  We have planned many educational and fun-filled events, further enriching the learning experiences for our children. Our PTO provides an amazing partnership, but they need all of you to make this happen. Please reach out to help in whatever capacity you are able. Being involved in your child’s educational journey has a profound impact, conveying a strong message that their education is a priority. 

We provide multiple ways to inform our families of the many exciting events and educational news relevant to our community. Your involvement is crucial. Not only will you know what is going on in your child’s life, but your children will also see that you value their time at school. You will be ready to help your children be successful on a day-to-day basis. 

 

1. PARENT SQUARE - STELLAR INSIGHTS: I will send weekly updates on Fridays once school begins. These communications will provide valuable information about our school, activities, and how to ensure your child's success. 

 

2. SCHOOL WEBSITE: https://star.ovsd.org/  We are currently updating the site and calendar to provide you with the most current information. 

 

3. STAR VIEW INSTAGRAM: @starviewschool—I post many photos of the activities and classroom work several times a week so our families have a real-time sense of what is happening in the classroom. 

 

I welcome questions, suggestions, comments, or concerns, and look forward to new challenges and opportunities for our students this year.
